“http://www.gadgetsmartphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ip8.jpg”>This tutorial will show you how to upgrade the iPhone 4 that using IOS 4.2.1 without upgrading the baseband by using the tool TinyUmbrella application for Mac.

Please Note: This Tool Works ONLY for iPhone peragkat 4!

Step One

Download TinyUmbrella of http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ Also be sure to download the IOS 4.2.1 iPhone 4 you can find in http://www.iclarified.com/750

Step Two

Double-click the file TinyUmbrella pk just downloaded and follow the instructions to install the application.

Step Three

Double click to start TinyUmbrella from your Applications folder.

Step Four

Make sure the device is connected, and TinyUmbrella has detected the device type and its firmware.

** If you have not saved IOS 4.2.1 select SHSH then click Save SHSH. Make sure they managed to save your SSH file before proceeding.

Step Five

Press the Start Server TSS and make sure you do not receive an error message.

After Server TSS shows “running” successfully, TinyUmbrella will kill iTunes. Let TinyUmbrella application remains open.

If you receive an error message, DO NOT continue. Your recovery will not work if the TSS server could not be started.

Step Six

Open iTunes by double clicking the icon in the dock.

Press and hold down the Option key and click Restore

Select the iPhone 4.2.1 firmware file from the popup window that appears and click Open.

Click Restore to start the restore of your device.

Step Seven

iTunes should give error 1013. This is what we want, because the baseband record has not been updated:) Click Ok and close iTunes.

If you get an error and then try to enter DFU 16XX and go to step 5.

If you are returning does NOT end with 1013, it means your baseband has been updated. This is probably because you do not have a TSS server is running OR you updated without TinyUmbrella OR OTHERWISE you work with devices other than the iPhone 4.

Step Eight

Place your iPhone into DFU mode by pressing both Power and Home button for ten seconds, then release the Power button and continue holding the Home button for 5 seconds. You can find help with DFU mode here.

Step Nine

You are now ready to follow tutorials Greenpois0n that will jailbreak your device and carrying out of DFU mode.

** Note: You do not need to place this device into DFU mode after press the Jailbreak in Greenpois0n as we already do this.

Step Ten

Your iPhone will now be on OS 4.2.1 with baseband 1:59:00! (Which means you now can unlock using this tutorial)
